Russia’s first-half stainless output grows on domestic demand
Russia’s production of stainless steel increased in the first half of the year, according to national special steel association USSA. Output amounted to 71,960 tonnes, up by 12.6% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Production of stainless hot rolled flat steel increased by 7.9% on-year, electric-welded pipe by 23.7% and seamless pipe by 4.2%. Output of cold rolled flats rose by 22%, long products increased by 6.3% and wire by 18.5%.
