Russia’s May stainless production increases despite import growth
Russia’s production of stainless steel increased in May, show national statistical service Rosstat data monitored by Kallanish. Output amounted to 17,400 tonnes, up by 1.1% on-year and 8.4% compared with April.
Production of stainless steel in January-May increased by 6.2% on-year.
Russian stainless imports, however, amounted to 32,640t in May, up by 10.9% on-month and 9.4% on-year (see Kallanish passim).
