Russian automotive production collapses due to Covid-19
Automotive production in Russia collapsed in April due to low demand and restrictive measures against Covid-19, show national statistical service Rosstat data.
Only a symbolic 30,000 passenger cars were produced last month, down by -79.2% on-year, Kallanish notes. Output almost reached the August-2009 low of 19,000 units, which was a fall of -85% on-year, experienced during the height of the financial crisis.
