Russia’s 2020 stainless imports increase, January prices firm
Russia increased imports of stainless steel in 2020, according to national special steel association USSA. Imports amounted to 383,200 tonnes, up by 3.8% on-year, Kallanish notes.
In December these imports were 35,650t, up by 7.8% compared with the previous month but down 7.3% on-year (see Kallanish passim).
Last year imports of stainless cold rolled flat products increased 8.7% on-year and of hot rolled flats by more by 7.5%.
