Russian steelmakers ramp up finished steel output
Russia’s steelmakers produced 9.6 million tonnes of non-alloy semi-finished steel in January-February, up 2.9% on-year, show national statistical service Rosstat data monitored by Kallanish. February alone saw output fall -7.6% on-month and -4.2% on-year.
Two-month finished steel output increased by 1.8% on-year to 10.4mt, although February output decreased by -8.6% compared with January and -0.1% on-year.
