Russian steel output decreases in October, outlook optimistic
Russia’s steelmakers produced 48.4 million tonnes of non-alloy semi-finished steel in January-October, down -0.8% on-year, show national statistical service Rosstat data monitored by Kallanish.
October alone saw output decrease slightly, by -0.3% on-month, but it was up by 4.5% on-year to 4.9mt.
Ten-month-through-October finished steel output fell -0.7% on-year to 51mt. In October alone output increased by 1.3% compared with September.
