Russian invasion of Ukraine lifts Turkish scrap prices
Imported scrap prices have surged in Turkey, as expected by Kallanish.
Scrap tonnages coming from Ukraine and Russia have fallen significantly since the export duty hikes in both countries in December 2021. However, the production cuts announced by Ukrainian mills and disruption in billet and pig iron shipments have caused scrap import prices to surge in Turkey.
