Russian carmakers ramp up production in first quarter
Carmakers in Russia increased production in March, according to national statistical service Rosstat.
About 146,000 passenger cars were produced during the third month of the year, up by 32.3% on-year, Kallanish notes. In January-March almost 365,000 cars were assembled, up 13.2% on-year.
The production of trucks in March amounted to 17,600 units, up by 34.3% on-year and in the first quarter output reached 38,500 trucks, gaining 38.5% on-year.
