Russian apparent consumption seen recovering in 2017

Russian apparent steel demand should recover in 2017, with growth forecasted at 1 million tonnes over 2016 to 41mt, according to the Russian Steel consortium’s Sergey Takhiev. Russian steelmaking capacity fell to 70m t/year in 2016 compared to 90m t/y in 1990.
