Russia increases stainless steel consumption
Russia’s real consumption of stainless steel increased in 2019, according to the Special Steel association.
It amounted to 463,500 tonnes, up 6.3% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Domestic production, meanwhile, grew by 13.4%. The volume of imports and exports decreased -4.2% and -1.4% respectively. The supply of commercial products was down -1%. The volume of stocks by the end of the year decreased by -9.6%.
