Turkish scrap imports from Russia surge in May
Turkey’s scrap imports remained flat year-on-year in May, up only 0.09% to 1.70 million tonnes, as a surge in intake from Russia compensated for the decrease in exports from the US. The total average value/tonne of these imports declined to $228/t from $271/t, Kallanish calculates from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
