Russia increases steel output in August, prices stable
Russia increased steel production in August, according to data from domestic analytical company Chermet.
The country’s steelmakers produced 6.31 million tonnes of crude steel and 5.4mt of rolled products, up 7.1% on-year and 2.1% on-year, respectively, Kallanish notes.
In January-August, steel production volumes increased by 4.2% to 50.8mt and rolled metal by 3.9% to 43.8mt.
