Russian Q1 stainless steel consumption ramps up
Russia’s real consumption of stainless steel increased in the first quarter of 2020, according to national special steel association USSA.
It amounted to 131,004 tonnes, up by 35.8% on-year, Kallanish notes. The volume of imports increased by 48% on-year and domestic production grew by 13.5% on-year.
The consumption of stainless steel increased in 2019 to 463,500 tonnes, up 6.3% on-year.
