Russia drives Turkey's July hot-rolled flats imports' growth
Turkish hot-rolled (HR) flat steel imports increased in July, mainly on the back of a surge in procurement from its main supplier Russia, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
July's imports increased 39.9% on-year and 26.7% on-month to 627,515 tonnes in July. The overall average value/tonne of these imports rose to $577/tonne from $488/t a year ago.
