Russia decreases steel, pipe production in first half
Russia decreased steel production in June, according to data from domestic analytical company Chermet.
The country’s steelmakers produced 6 million tonnes of crude steel, down 3.7% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Rolled products output amounted to 5.3mt, which is 1.6% less versus June 2023.
January-June steel output amounted to 36.7mt, down by 3.1% on-year. Rolled steel production decreased 2.5% to 32mt.
