Russia decreases stainless steel imports in August
Russian imports of stainless steel increased in January-August, despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine altering market trading patterns, says national special steel association USSA.
Russia’s stainless intake in the first eight months of the year amounted to 270,490 tonnes, up by 3.1% on-year, Kallanish notes. However, in August alone, stainless imports amounted to 30,580t, down by 3% compared to July and less by 26.6% on-year.
