Covid-19 pandemic slashes Russia stainless scrap exports

Russia decreased exports of stainless steel scrap in January-June due to a decline in stainless production in Europe because of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to national special steel association USSA. Exports amounted to 51,360 tonnes, down by -15.4% on-year, Kallanish notes. The volume of January-June scrap exports with a nickel content of above 8% decreased to 43,220t, down by -8.9% on-year.
