Russia builds Far Eastern steelworks to supply shipyard
Russia will build a new steelworks in its Far East to meet the needs of the Zvezda shipbuilding yard, Rosneft head Igor Sechin said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The production capacity will 1.5 million tonnes/year of hot rolled flat products and pipe, Kallanish notes. Sukhodol Bay was chosen as the most appropriate location for the construction of the new plant.
