Rizhao to double steel capacity by 2025
Rizhao City in eastern China’s Shandong province plans to double its steel capacity to 40 million tonnes/year by 2025, Kallanish learns from the city’s “14th Five-year Ecological Environmental Protection Plan”.
Since national capacity is prohibited from increasing and new capacity projects require to use new equipment larger than the equipment replaced, Rizhao steelmakers will have to obtain capacity quotas from mills in other areas.
