Reduced US, Indonesia interest slashes Indian billet exports

Indian semi-finished product exports, the majority of which were mild steel billet, fell -5.15% on-year in April to 137,981 tonnes, according to Indian commerce ministry data monitored by Kallanish. This is despite shipments to top market Nepal surging 21.6% to 69,726t, and exports to Taiwan reaching 14,768t versus zero in April 2017.
