Reduced shipments, tight margins hamper Stalprodukt performance
Stalprodukt’s electrical sheet segment sales fell -10% on-year in the third quarter to PLN 209.7 million ($54.1m), as volumes shipped fell -8.5%, the firm says without providing tonnages.
The lower sales were due mainly to planned maintenance at the firm’s Czech-based GO Steel Frydek Mistek unit. Margins were squeezed by lower shipments, reduced sales prices and increased costs, primarily energy and labour costs.
