Reduced EU demand hampers Macedonian pipemaker's sales
Macedonian welded pipemaker FZC 11 Oktomvri saw sales fall -12% on-year in 2018 to 29,662 tonnes, while output fell -27% to 26,712t.
The reasons behind the production drop were reduced demand from the EU – a major customer in recent years – owing to slowing economic activity in the bloc, as well as a reduction in domestic gasification projects.
In 2007 and 2008, considered good years, the pipemaker produced 50,000t and 35,000t of pipe respectively…
