Mills’ captive scrap processing threatens recyclers: Tenova’s Dorndorf
The scrap industry needs to continue investing in its processing facilities in order to stay at the forefront of steel recycling, as mills get increasingly ambitious in integrating scrap processing into their own operations. So says Markus Dorndorf, who heads the German branch of plantbuilder Tenova.
In the course of the dawning technical transition, scrap will become more valuable for steelmaking, according to Dorndorf.
