Rebar prices inch down in Egypt
Egyptian re-rollers have decreased their rebar prices by nearly EGP 350/tonne ($22) to EGP 14,850-15,000/t ($945-955) ex-works, including 14% VAT. This means VAT-excluded prices will be at EGP 13,026-13,157/t ($829-837) ex-works.
The announcement came last Sunday and integrated mills are expected to follow the price reduction, in line with lower iron ore prices, Kallanish notes.
