Rebar, HRC futures correct further down
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures continued to inch down on Monday, but this is believed to be a slight correction and does not indicate a change in fundamentals, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May 2021 rebar contract closed on Monday CNY 45/tonne lower than last Friday at CNY 3,988/t ($609/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 8/t at CNY 4,317/t. In Tangshan, billet prices were CNY 3,630/t, down another CNY…
