Raw steel production ticks up in US
US raw steel production rose on-week but remains significantly down on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
In the week ended 4 July, US raw steel production stood at 1.268 million short tons at 56.6% capability utilisation, up 2.3% from the previous week, when utilisation was 55.4%, but down -31.6% from the equivalent week last year, when utilisation was 79.7%.
