US raw steel output rises week-on-week, down on-year
US raw steel production in the week ended 23 January ticked up slightly from the previous week but remains significantly down year-on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Last week, raw steel production totalled 1.67 million net tons at an average capability utilisation of 69.8%, up 1.1% from the previous week’s total of 1.652m nt at 69.1%.
