Qatar Steel performance rebounds further, prices enable exports
Qatar Steel's sales dropped 23% on-year in the first quarter to 591,000 tonnes, but higher selling prices helped profit surge, parent Industries Qatar (IQ) says in a report seen by Kallanish.
Rebar sales fell 38% on-year in Q1 to 342,000t, but this was up 40% on-quarter. Selling price was up 25% on-year and 12% on-quarter to $621/tonne.
