Qatar growth boosts Mid-East October production
Crude steel production in the four Middle Eastern countries covered by worldsteel’s monthly report increased 2.9% on-year in October to 3.04 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
Qatar, where production is accounted for almost entirely by Qatar Steel, reported an 11% surge in output to 228,000t, which meant January-October output was flat on-year at 2.2mt.
