Prolonged monsoon hampers JSW production, firm idles BF
JSW Steel reported a -13% on-year slump in crude steel output in October to 1.25 million tonnes. Long products output dropped -25% to 258,000t and flats output was down -3% to 977,000t.
Prolonged monsoon rains impacted production at the Dolvi and Vijayanagar works. JSW has also temporarily idled one of its blast furnaces at the Salem works due to the slowdown in automotive sector demand.
