Prolonged Turkish merchant bar downtrend comes to end
Following the further increases seen in scrap and billet prices last week, most Turkish merchant bar exporters kept their prices flat on-week, while some increased by $5/tonne after a prolonged downtrend.
Turkish merchant bar re-rollers were forced to pay more for billet last week due to high global demand for billet, specifically from Asia, and increasing scrap prices. As a result, they did not decrease their quotes further last week.
