Silk road projects to boost central Asian steel demand
The first concrete projects from China’s 'New Silk Road' policies are expected to be announced at the Boao Forum for Asia at the end of March, Chinese analysts say. Eastern Chinese and Central Asian steel companies are hoping that a wave of Chinese-led investment in the region will spur steel demand by around 18 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
Some projects could even begin generating some steel demand before the end of the year, analysts say.…
