Restrictions hit Guangxi ferrochrome production
A Chinese central government environmental protection inspection team entered Guangxi last week, leading to seven local high-carbon ferrochrome plants stopping production for about a week from Monday.
Kallanish notes from local sources that 12 submerged arc furnaces at seven high-carbon ferrochrome plants have been shut down, affecting output of about 5,000 tonnes/day. Most of these plants are concentrated in the Baise area of Guangxi.
