Posco starts EV steel plant construction
South Korean steelmaker Posco has broken ground on its non-grain oriented electrical steel plant in Gwangyang in South Jeolla Province.
The investment of this plant is around $800 million, and the designed capacity is 300,000 tonnes/year of non-oriented electrical steel coil for electric vehicles, Kallanish notes. The start-up of this new plant is due in 2025.
