Posco plans to cut scrap imports
South Korean steelmaker Posco has decided to halt ferrous scrap buying for two months from 13 April, as the finished steel market remains weak, Kallanish notes.
South Korean steel demand has fallen, especially for special steel and high-end steel, pushing steelmakers to be cautious over their raw materials purchases. The Korea Iron and Steel Association says Korean steelmakers produced 11.16 million tonnes of crude steel in January-February, dropping by -3.1%…
