Posco delays restart of Gwangyang blast furnace
Major South Korean steelmaker Posco has not yet resumed production at the No.3 blast furnace at its Gwangyang plant after a recent upgrade, Kallanish notes.
The No.3 blast furnace upgrade started early this year and was completed at the end of May. Posco has increased the volume of this blast furnace from 4,600 cubic-metres to 5,500 cubic-metres. The capacity meanwhile was increased from 3.7 million tonnes/year to 4.5m t/y.
