Port of Houston sets record steel volumes
The US' largest steel port says it broke several records during May, despite on-going woes in the steel trade arena, Kallanish reports.
The Port of Houston set a record for container volume with 1.1 million twenty-foot equivalent containers passing through the port in May, up 7% from the previous record set in March and up 6% over May 2017.
General steel imports topped 500,000 short tons in May, the largest such total since April 2015.
