Port of Houston expands capacity
The steel-intensive Port of Houston is adding an additional three heavy cranes as part of its on-going $700 million modernisation project, Kallanish reports.
The project aims to give the port the ability to handle ever-increasing cargo volume. The port handled 28.8m short tons of cargo through the first nine months of the year, up 9% from last year’s equivalent year-to-date volume.
