Policy orientation hits Chinese steel exports in July
China’s increasing focus on domestic markets, policies to discourage exports, and uncertainty over export taxes hit the country’s finished steel exports in July, Kallanish notes. Exports that month stood at 5.67 million tonnes, down 12.2% month-on-month but still 35.75% higher year-on-year, preliminary customs figures show.
