Poland's JSW prioritises thermal coal amid higher prices
Jastrzebska Spolka Weglowa (JSW) saw external coking coal sales fall 4% on-year in the third quarter to 1.07 million tonnes, whereas coke sales dropped 8% to 700,000t, Kallanish notes.
Coking coal output meanwhile fell 3% in Q3 to 2.64mt and coke production by 15% to 780,000t.
Average coking coal sales price fell 19% in zloty terms and 25% in dollar terms on-quarter in Q3, the firm says without providing a value. Thermal coal sales price meanwhile soared 93%.
