Poland's Huta Labedy certifies new SMS-supplied pipe mill
Huta Labedy has granted SMS the final acceptance certificate for its new electric resistance welding (ERW) pipe mill, Kallanish learns from the technology supplier.
The plant, based at Labedy’s sole Gliwice works, produces 114.3-323.9mm diameter pipe of L555 (X80) grade steel, from 3-12.7mm in wall thickness. Pipe length is 6-18m. It is the largest and most-advanced plant in Poland designed to manufacture ERW pipe with longitudinal seam, according to SMS. …
