Turkeys pig iron output rises in 2014
Turkey’s pig iron production increased to 9.4 million tonnes in 2014 from 9.2mt in 2013, Kallanish learns from a World Steel Association report.
The country had no pig iron exports in 2014, while hot metal imports were at 900,000t. Apparent pig iron consumption thus totalled 10.3mt last year, worldsteel says in the 2015 edition of its World Steel in Figures report.
