Southern Philippines halts nickel production
The Philippine Minister of Environment Resources and Energy, Abdulraof Abdul Macacua announced on 16 September that nickel mining in the south of the country will be halted indefinitely. The region in question mainly produces high-grade nickel ore and is currently being reviewed by the ministry, Kallanish notes.
