Philippine nickel ore production surges, China imports less
The Philippines produced 3.57 million dry metric tonnes of nickel ore in the first quarter, up 48% year-on-year, Kallanish notes from the Philippine Mines and Geosciences Bureau.
The total value of nickel ore and other nickel by-products output accounted for 47.12% of the country's total output value of mineral commodities in Q1, which was IDR 13.62 billion ($9.49 million).
