Peru's SHP sets record iron ore production in 2016
Shougang Hierro Peru (SHP), reached a new record for iron ore output in 2016, Kallanish learns from data issued by the local Mines and Energy Ministry.
Peru's sole iron ore producer saw an output of 7.66 million tonnes, surpassing the previous record of 7.3mt achieved in 2015. This is a growth of 4.68% y-o-y.
SHP produced 583mt in December 2016, an increase of 22% in comparison to the same period of the previous year.
