Peru’s May iron ore output hits seven-month low

Peruvian iron ore production fell both month-on-month and year-on-year in May, Kallanish notes. Iron ore output reached 983,308 tonnes in May. This was down 13.6% versus April and 3.7% lower compared with 1.02 million tonnes in the corresponding month of 2022, according to the latest Peruvian mines and energy ministry (Minem) report.
