Peru’s May iron ore output hits seven-month low
Peruvian iron ore production fell both month-on-month and year-on-year in May, Kallanish notes.
Iron ore output reached 983,308 tonnes in May. This was down 13.6% versus April and 3.7% lower compared with 1.02 million tonnes in the corresponding month of 2022, according to the latest Peruvian mines and energy ministry (Minem) report. This volume was the lowest since September when output was 982,042t.
