Peru’s iron ore output decreases in December
Peru saw iron ore production decrease sequentially and year-on-year in December 2021, Kallanish notes. The slowdown was due to the 26-day strike by workers at Shougang Hierro Perú (SHP).
According to the latest Peruvian mines and energy ministry (Minem) report, iron ore output reached 754,596 tonnes in the month, 24.4% less than November last year and also down 23% y-o-y.
