Peru's Aceros Arequipa sales slump in first quarter
Major Peruvian EAF-based longs supplier, Aceros Arequipa, saw its sales fall year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter of 2020. This was due to the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak and the quarantine implemented in the country, Kallanish learns from a company statement.
The steelmaker saw also a fall in demand for high carbon steel bars used for manufacturing conventional balls for grinding minerals and ores over Q1 2020.
