Perstima profits slump as tinplate struggles
Malaysian tinplate producer Perusahaan Sadur Timah (Perstima) saw its net profits slide sharply in its first financial quarter ended June 2017 despite increasing revenues. The Japanese-invested plant says it hopes to cut costs by investing in its equipment but is concerned about import competition, Kallanish notes.
