Pellet export duties to dampen Indian market: ICRA
Owing to the 45% export duty imposition on iron ore pellet, exports, which earlier absorbed 15% of Indian pellet production, have become unviable for merchant players, rating agency ICRA says.
“The recently announced export duty is a major dampener for [Indian] merchant pellet players and would render exports unviable at current prices,” says ICRA. “This would adversely impact the pellet capacity utilisation, which is expected to go down below 65…
